The club was formed by a community-spirited group in the early 50's, and was established on its present site in 1953. It has undergone several upgrades and expansions along the waterfront from its initial corner venue.
Wangi Bay - that portion of the lake which the club overlooks - is a haven for marine craft, with a large number of moorings established. An easy walk from the club along the foreshore is Dobell House - the former residence of renowned artist Sir William Dobell - now open to the public as a Museum and personal tribute to the late Sir William. |
